What's really inside most “cozy” blankets?
Most blankets sold today are polyester: plastic spun into thread. Even some sold as “cotton” are cotton-poly blends. Synthetics trap heat and sweat against your skin, build up static, and are often finished with chemical treatments. If you start the night cold and wake up in an oven, your blanket may be part of the reason.
Plastic against your skin
Polyester and microfiber are petroleum-based synthetics. They don't breathe. They seal warmth and moisture in, so you wake up clammy instead of rested.
“Cotton” that isn't all cotton
Blends mix cotton with polyester to cut cost. Check the tag: if it doesn't say 100% cotton, part of what you sleep under is plastic.
Pilling, static, shedding
Synthetic fibers pill, cling, and shed tiny plastic fibers in the wash, getting rougher over time. Cotton washes clean and gets softer, again and again.
Warm but breathable, not one or the other

Is this really a 100% cotton blanket?
Yes. It's made from a single natural material: 100% muslin cotton, OEKO-TEX® certified, with no polyester, plastic, or artificial fibers blended in. Many blankets sold as cotton are cotton-poly blends, so check the label: if it doesn't say 100% cotton, part of it is synthetic.
How do the sizes run?
Listed sizes are measured at full stretch, and muslin's crinkled weave lies a little smaller on the bed. The Throw (50x60 in) and Large Throw (60x80 in) are cotton throw blankets for the sofa, a reading chair, or the end of the bed. For generous overhang on a full bed, size up: if you're between Queen (80x90 in) and King (95x110 in), choose King.
Will it keep me warm in winter, or is it summer-only?
It's a light, breathable layer, so on its own it suits warm nights and hot sleepers best. In winter the air pockets in the weave hold warmth when you layer it under a duvet or quilt. One blanket, all year.
How do I wash it, and will it shrink?
Machine wash on a low heat setting and hang to dry. Skip the tumble dryer and hot washes: like any natural cotton, high heat can shrink it. Skip fabric softeners too, since the blanket softens with every wash on its own.
